The Developers initially submitted a proposal to the Historic District Commission and encountered sufficient concerns that they withdrew it, hosted a community discussion, then submitted a completely new proposal that has 35 efficiency units of 523 sq. ft and seeks a variance. No community discussion of that new plan has been set up by the developers. A group of residents obtained copies of the plans and has a list of concerns and questions that they will present at the Quinnipiac East Mgmt Team meeting on 6/5 at the Ross Woodward School library at 6 PM. If you have only read the developer's public relations articles and seen "vision" drawings, you really have to see what is being proposed to decide if this will revitalize the community (one of the requirements of a PDU) and whether it is so special that it will contribute to the area. The developer's application is scheduled before the Zoning Board of Appeals for June 12. If you want to see a quality development for Fair Haven and Fair Haven Heights - both originally one area, sharing a river, then please invest some time to learn the details.
