Event Description
An informal opportunity to meet up with neighbors and be active before settling into the rest of Thanksgiving’s more sedentary activities :)
We’ll have coffee and cider and baked goods set up in the middle of Chatham Square Park at 9 am and we’ll kick off the Turkey Trot (or walk or ride, whatever you’re up for) at 9:30 am. 10 laps around the park is 3 miles, feel free to do any amount but for those who do complete the full 5K, we’ll have a special prize, TBD!
This is free and open to all! If you’re able to make a contribution, though, we are looking to collect cold weather gear to donate to Columbus House - socks, gloves, hand warmers – anything that might help a fellow New Havener who’s homeless and having to deal with the fast approaching winter elements. Bring them to the Trot and I’ll get everything donated.
If you’re interested in participating in the Turkey Trot, please email me at kerryinconnecticut@gmail.com or call/text at 860-888-2036 so we can get a general headcount. And if you’d like to contribute a baked good or other snack for the pre-Trot meet up, let me know that as well!!
