Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

The Economic & Community Development group met on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 6 – 7 pm at 315 Front Street. Present: Christel, Lisa, Lee.

 

This was our final Riverfest planning meeting (we did not meet in April). Schedule will be as follows: 11 am, Bregamos Drummers, 12 Tai Chi demo, 12:30 Four Barrell Billy band set 1, 1:30 Music Haven performers, 2:30 FBB set 2.

Action items remaining:

  1. Setup and cleanup. Lisa will confirm with Turning Point guys (ask for 6-8 people). Lee will announce need for volunteers at meeting. Christel to contact Rafael about pickup Fri and return Sat for stage boxes; also contact Natalie to confirm same for Wacoma tents, tables and chairs. Lisa to move containers away from water side of lot.
  2. Promotion. Lee will do Facebook promotion. Has also made flyers; will post announcement on CSNA for volunteers to pick up packets of flyers at his house or Christel’s house. Lisa will distribute to her network; also ask Boat House Café to distribute flyers to restaurant customers. Christel will distribute some also. Christel will locate sandwich boards for set up in park.
  3. Coordinating vendors and performers. Christel will use Lee’s template to confirm/send instructions to QRWA, FBB band, Bregamos, Music Haven, Tai Chi people (Shirley; aipingtaichicenter@gmail.com), Cookie lady, Sheila’s kid team, Land Trust, Sound School. Christel will contact John Pescatore of CDBi to see if they want to promote Dragon Boat event, perhaps by doing a practice race or even just displaying a boat (boats will be stored at marina anyway).
