Our son Pablo's amazing second grade teachers at Columbus School would love to find a few volunteers to work one-on-one reading with children in their classroom, during the morning reading time from around 9-10am. It could take place once per week or every day. Whatever you can do will be welcome and appreciated. This is a training for 10 residents and staff of community organizations to learn about community engaged research. It runs from Nov-Dec. The goal is to develop a network of stakeholders who have a seat at the table regarding research that is done in/on New Haven. Friends Center for children has ten preschool slots that must be filled by 10/1 by New Haven resident families. Please spread the word as it's a great opportunity for the right family and for our neighborhood -- they are looking for families at any and all income levels, so if you have a neighbor with young children please let them know.
