As an outsider, and volunteer participant in the 2012 Riverfest I can only report excitement at the direction of this initiative. Today New Haven City Hall will have emergency meals available to families in need of assistance due to Storm Sandy-related damages and power outages. Seven distribution sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. The maximum number of meals available per household is four, unless additional need is demonstrated. The distribution sites were selected based on the proximity to homes without power. The seven sites are as follows:

A woman called the cops after seeing a dirt biker tear down Norton Street. Carlos Conceicao and Josh Kyle turned the corner wondering if the call was about the biker they’d been looking for. They had a “ghost” of an idea of how to catch him—on foot.
