Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

Recap of Fair Haven Community Picnic September 1

Forwarded from Ruffina Durazzo, Mary Wade Holdings:

On September 1 the neighborhood enjoyed Fair Haven's third successful annual "Fair Haven United Neighborhood Celebration of Safety Community Picnic", and thanks to Dr. Abie Benitez, Principal of Columbus Family Academy, it is held each year in the back campus of Columbus Family Academy. The FH Management Team and the FH Substation coordinates this event yearly to bring positive energy to our neighborhoods and to encourage involvement in the FH Community. This event is attended by the Community, NHPD, NHFD, City Officials, surrounding Aldermen, and the businesses and organizations of Fair Haven.

We want to thank the NHFD for their Smoke House, the New Haven Public Library for their Mobile Library Truck, Start Community Bank for their ice cream truck, the Creative Arts Workshop creative teachers, and the Centro San Jose Catholic Charities volunteers for the face painting, making this such an enjoyable event for everyone.

We also want to thank the following sponsors for their generous contributions to make this a very successful fun community-building event: LaSuper Marqueta, C-Town, Centro San Jose Catholic Charities, and Community Start Bank Bank all located on Grand Avenue, The Mary Wade Home on Clinton Ave, Maria's Market on Ferry St, DS Sewing on Middle Street, New Haven Police Union, and the Ice House on Main Street, all located in the FH Community.

If you are a resident, organization, or business of Fair Haven and interested in joining the Fair Haven Management Team, the meetings are held the first Thursday of the month at 295 Blatchley Avenue. For further information, you can email Diane Ecton, Co-Chair at ectondiane@yahoo.com, or contact Sgt Zona at 203-946-7377.
