Free Tax Filing through the New Haven VITA Coalition!
Individuals and families earning less than $54,000 a year are eligible for free tax preparation at over a dozen sites in New Haven...spread the word! Free VITA sites save filers an average of $200 and encourage people who don't think they need to file to see if they are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Regrettably, the Fair Haven site at the Columbus Academy on Blatchley isn't operating, but there are many others (I volunteer at the Emanuel Luthern site in East Rock, Sundays from 12-4). I'll update this post if a Fair Haven site opens.

This is made possible through the IRS, the Connecticut Association for Human Services, and the United Way of Greater New Haven.
