Present: Kimberly Acosta, Fereshteh Bekhrad, Muriel Bodenweber, Lee Cruz, Mark Duda, Sally Esposito, Susan Hackett, David Hunter, Patricia Kane, K.A. Kresser, M. Lemley, Mary Ann Moran, George Morrison, Kirk Morrison, Lt. David Zanelli.

  • Welcome & Introductions and 1:1s - One thing you are looking forward to this summer.
  • Finance Report – Lauren $9626. 90 In account. Riverfest cancelled due to weather. Thanks to Mark for donation to CSNA & Mary Wade for Riverfest and Trail cards. $4350 collected for Riverfest. . Expenses for insurance, advertising. $350-400 incurred.
  • Health & Wellness (Interested in working on health\wellness issues? Contact Mary Ann at moran.mary.ann@snet.net or Lee (203-668-7074)

            Urban Trail Update – Report on distribution, use and publicity, FH postcard map. Useful to

            Realtors, teachers, use to teach children. Spanish version in the works.

             Community gardens – Mary Ann/Mark . All going well.   

            NH Farms: active and at capacity. Program geared to diabetes prevention.

              Food Policy Council – Kathleen reports Food Panty open at Police Substation 3rd Saturday of the month   1-3        PM.

            Other health\wellness activities: Lee walked with docs to tour neighborhood. 3 different groups scheduled.

  • Riverfest: What happen and planning forward. Goodnight Blue Moon musical group has already signed up for next year. Will develop protocol for future weather issues
  • Strong School building\Grand Avenue planning, next steps. Planning stage 2 meeting: safety, garbage, connection between 2 neighborhoods, etc.
  • Mary Ann: Fall Festival collaboration with Fair Haven Community Management Team Festival, Thursday September 6 at 5pm. We will provide the horse drawn carriage.
  • Other Econ & Community Development activities:
  • FH Community Team Report- Next meeting 6pm June 7 FH Police Substation; minutes available on website: www.fairhavencmt.org One City Initiative www.onecityinitiative.org for summer programs.
  • Library Activity Report – Kirk: July 12 book talk event. Saturday cartoonist at library. Following Saturday will be reptiles.
  • Website report: Lee – Support our contributors, website content available in multiple languages

            450 members.

  • Old Business & Reports:
    • Fair Haven Festival w/ Festival of Arts & Ideas: Mary Anne: 5-600 people
    • 10th Annual Fair Haven Parade – Mary Wade Home
    • NHR Apartment Project in Fair Haven Heights: Bekhrad and Kane reported a list of concerns discussed in a meeting with Noel Petra without producing any agreement as to changes. Group who studied new
    • PDU plan believe there is no community benefit, too many (35) units of 523 sq. ft (similar to Strong School plan) and too little retail. Issues with parking plus request for a variance from public space requirement.
    • This application will go before the ZBA on July 12 and is the 1st item on the Agenda. Contact F. Bekhrad for further information
  • New Business
    • URI Green Spaces project: Lewis Street Park, Middletown Avenue. Meetings scheduled.
    • Riverfront dev. And Oyster Cove have a new agreement. New sea wall will be built.
    • Clifton St. Canoe Ramp. Only Clifton St. is public access. City researching title to filled in land on river side of abandoned restaurant.

    • Community Soup Night- 6-8pm, Sunday, 6/24, Grand Acres Garden, Grand & Perkins St.
    • Bring something to complement soup: bread, drink, dessert.
