Event Description

Be among the first to walk the newest stretch of the Mill River Trail!Friday, 11/8 at 1pm, CFE/Save the Sound will partner with REI, Lost in New Haven, and the Mill River Trail Advocates to lead the first walk of the southern segment of the Mill River Trail. Join us to look back at the history of the trail, walk its current path, and hear about future plans for a "green infrastructure park."

Earlier that day, local 4th and 5th-grade students from Cold Spring School and John S. Martinez School will work with staff from Save the Sound to install new trail markers from Grand Avenue south to Criscuolo Park. They will also be working with us, Lots of Fish, and their teachers to paint educational art of their own design around two storm drains along the route of the trail, which you will see on our walk!

Please arrive at Lost in New Haven, 424 Grand Avenue in New Haven, by no later than 1:30pm to join us for the walk. For all who are interested, attendees will also have the option to view the extraordinary collection of New Haven history at Lost in New Haven for a reduced price ($10/person) starting at 1:00pm. We highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity if you can spare the time and money (which supports the preservation of our shared history at Lost in New Haven).
