DESCRIPTION:Hands on learning of the fundamentals of safe and practica
 l use of a Bridgeport Milling Machine. Students who successfully compe
 te this class will earn the Bridgeport Mill badge, allowing ongoing us
 e for members. No previous experience required, however MakeHaven memb
 ers must complete the online information and quiz to complete badgin
 g.  \nThe Learning Objectives are as follows:\nIdentify the locations
  and function of the milling machine's E-stop\nIdentify and demonstrat
 e proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)\nExplain and Ident
 ify Lock Out-Tag Out procedure and guidelines for the milling machine\
 nList/adhere to all shop/lab safety rules established by Make Haven\nI
 dentify the location and function of the components on the mill\nDemon
 strate safe insertion and removal of cutting tools\nDemonstrate adequa
 te clamping/fixturing procedure of work-piece\nDemonstrate proper star
 t up and speed selection sequence for both belt driven and variable-sp
 eed spindles\nIdentify and confirm proper spindle rotation for intende
 d cutting tool\nIdentify and explain the function of machines preventa
 tive maintenance (TPM) requirements\nDemonstrate the accurate and safe
  squaring of the machine's vise\nDemonstrate and explain the need for 
 accurate edgefinding of a workpiece\nDemonstrate proper care and use o
 f precision measuring tools (dial indicator, micrometer, dial caliper)
 \nReference the Machinists Handbook for proper tool selection / cuttin
 g speeds and feeds.\nThis is an in-person, hands-on class. Participant
 s will be required to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth and keep
  distanced. Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or with a recent
