Carve Diem: Intro to Lino Carving & Printmaking

Running over 2 consecutive Tuesdays, April 30 & May 7, this 2-day weeknight class, students will embark on a creative journey into the world of multicolor printmaking using linoleum blocks. Over the course of two evenings, participants will discover the art of planning, carving, and printing to bring their unique imaginations to life. Two small linoleum blocks and a set of carving tools will be provided, setting the stage for a hands-on exploration of this captivating artistic process.

Skills You'll Learn:
- Linoleum Carving: Develop the skills to carve intricate and unique designs on linoleum blocks for printmaking.
- Multi-block Printing: Master the art of setting up imagery on linoleum to create a multi-color, multi-block print.
- Printmaking Techniques: Explore the process of printing multiple impressions of your linocut imagery, refining your craft with each print.

What to Bring:
Printed reference images or ideas for your linocut imagery. All other materials, including two small linoleum blocks and a set of carving tools, will be provided.
