SUMMARY:Colorful Bacteria Art
DESCRIPTION:In this hands-on workshop, you will create your own agar a
 rt using live microbes.  Participants will create agar art by paintin
 g with microbes and learn how to use traditional biology lab technique
 s with artistic tools. Before the experience you watch a video giving 
 basic instruction of how to use the tools.\nYou will be assigned to on
 e of four a half hour “painting” sessions (on 23rd) to come and pa
 int (sessions scheduled to limit participant occupancy).\nExperienced 
 scientists will instruct you on techniques and teach you about the gen
 etic engineering used to modify bacteria colors during your session.\n
 Each participant will have the opportunity to create two designs which
  will be left at MakeHaven to incubate for 3 days.\n After incubation,
  participants will join an online session (March 2nd @ 6pm)  to obser
