DESCRIPTION:Caning is a method of weaving chair seats and other fur
 niture either while building new chairs or in the process of cane chai
 r repair.\nJoin the instructors from East Street Arts and learn how
  to weave a junior footstool (12\" x 9\" x 8\" high) using fiber splin
 t (paper) in a herringbone pattern. Once you learn how to do paper, yo
 u can use other materials like shaker tape and splint for more variati
 on.  Attendees will cane their own outdoor/garden bench and be sent ho
 me with polyurethane to apply a finish to the weave to protect the mat
 erial.\nNo experience necessary, all materials (including stool frame)
