DESCRIPTION:The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Bu
 siness Technology Transfer (STTR)\n\nprograms are programs that encour
 age small businesses to win Federal Research and Development grant on 
 ideas that have potential for commercialization. These grants are targ
 eted through a competitive awards-based program. SBIR and STTR enable 
 small businesses to explore their technological potential and provide 
 the incentive to profit from its commercialization, often awarding $10
 0,000 and above for project research aligned to government objectives.
 \n\nThis session will be a very high level overview relevant to someon
 e interested in learning if their research interests would be candidat
 es for these awards. Those that believe they may qualify will have an 
 opportunity to receive individualized advice in in future session.\n\n
