Intro talk- Textile reuse
Stories of used textiles transformed into outfits. Meghan will share her experience and advice finding sources of fabrics for sewing projects.(5 minutes)
Reforming used plastic to make products and art using an over, press, grinder and extrudes. Nick McGee will share progress and plans on an incentive to build Precious Plastics reuse center at MakeHaven. (10 minutes)
Featured Presentation-Recycling in CT, What Every Resident Should Know.
Learn all about recycling including what goes in the bin and what stays out, should I still recycle and the impact of China's National Sword on Connecticut's recycling programs. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation. (40 minutes)
Presented by Sherill Baldwin-in sustainable materials management for over 30 years and at DEEP since 2008, Ms Baldwin's current projects include the RecycleCT Foundation, CT WRAP initiative and product stewardship programs. She facilitated the creation of a universal list of acceptable recyclables in the state of Connecticut for the What's IN? What's OUT? campaign and helps promote the campaign
