SUMMARY:Save the Date: ROCK TO ROCK EARTH DAY RIDE 4/24
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.\nExplore New
Haven's parks and neighborhoods.\nRaise funds for great local environm
ental organizations.\n\nExplore New Haven by bicycle. Rock to Rock is
a day-long celebration of Earth Day, and of New Haven's rich environme
ntal and cultural resources.\n\nHere's how it works: You and a few hun
dred others will travel between West Rock and East Rock, with celebrat
ions on both sides of the city. Along the way, you will eat tasty food
, hear great music, take on environmental service projects, explore Ed
gewood and Beaver Ponds Parks, and ride Farmington Canal Trail and off
icial city bike lanes\n\nThink you're hard-core? Take detours to the t
op of the two rocks. Have a little kid in tow? Join us from Common Gro
und to Edgewood Park.\n\nFamilies and college students, 20-something h
ipsters and teenagers, young and old, serious riders and weekend warri
ors will all be welcomed. Join our rock band.\n\nSupport great local e
nvironmental organizations.\nYour registration fees go to support the
organizing partners who are making Rock to Rock run: Common Ground, So
lar Youth, and the nature centers run by the New Haven Parks Departmen
 t. When you collect pledges, you can choose to focus your fundraising
energy on one of the following organizations, or have it go to all of
the great Rock to Rock participating partners: The Urban Resources Ini
tiative, Common Ground, Solar Youth, New Haven Parks Department, Frien
ds of East Rock Park, Friends of Beaver Pond Park, Friends of Edgewood
Park, Sierra Club's Inner City Outings, and Elm City Cycling.\n\nAll
of these organizations share a commitment to helping New Haven residen
ts explore and learn from the city's parks. And all of these organizat
ions need of additional resources in order to keep their important wor
k strong and growing.\n\nFor more information visit https://chathamsqu
