Event Description

Would you like to help our neighbors who are food insecure? Come join me in volunteering at the United Way's Fair Haven pop-up food pantry!
Roll up your sleeves and join us Friday, August 28th for our next Neighborhood Pop Up Pantry!

The event will take place in Fair Haven between 2:45pm and 6:30pm. Volunteer roles will be assigned and include the following:

  • Unloaders - who can lift boxes up to 30lb. to get food off of the delivery truck
  • Bag Packers - to organize bags for distribution
  • Distributors - to hand out food
  • Welcomers - to create a positive, hope filled, environment for pantry clients (Bi-lingual volunteers strongly preferred)
  • Traffic Directors - to keep things running smoothly (Bi-lingual volunteers strongly preferred)
  • Data Collectors - to gather data from families using the service (Bi-lingual volunteers strongly preferred)

Per the State of Connecticut, volunteers must be under 60 years of age, be generally healthy, not be immunocompromised in any way or caring for others who are immunocompromised or sick, and have not exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, coughing, shortness of breath) in the two weeks prior to the event.

Volunteers are asked to bring their own masks.
