Friends Center for children has ten preschool slots that must be filled by 10/1 by New Haven resident families. Please spread the word as it's a great opportunity for the right family and for our neighborhood -- they are looking for families at any and all income levels, so if you have a neighbor with young children please let them know. It's a full year, full day program. Interested families can call Susan at 203-468-1966.

URI will send someone to your home to advise on what species of tree would be appropriate. URI supplies the tree and supervises a crew of young people who do the planting. All you have to do is keep the tree watered for the next several months so that it gets established. It's a terrific program. Director of the program is Colleen Murphy-Dunning. The office is in a building at the corner of Prospect and Edwards Streets.

Please participate if there's room for a street tree at the front of your property.
