I just wanted to let everyone know that the City Budget Hearing will take place on Thursday, May 5th at 630 pm at the Aldermanic Chamber at City Hall. There are a number of items on the agenda, including the funding of library positions for the New Haven Free Public library. The library is asking that the community come out in support and speak on the library's behalf in order to let the Board of Alders know what the library means to you and why it is important to fund…

Hi all! I am looking to start a chess club at the Fair Haven library for kids/tweens. We have had some interest and currently have a group of kids that come in to play every afternoon. I am putting a call out to anyone who has the time, interest, and skills to teach the kids that would come to the club. I haven't set up any time or days yet, so I could definitely work that out with anyone who would be interested.
