Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront
The New Haven Preservation Trust is proud to announce its new Historic Date Plaque program, made possible through a generous grant from People’s United Bank.
Property owners are encouraged to request a plaque acknowledging the construction date of their buildings. There is no requirement for the age, type or location of building; properties built at any time, in any New Haven neighborhood, are eligible.
As a part of the NHPT 50th Anniversary celebration, we are pleased to offer the plaques at a subsidized price of $50, through the end of 2011.
Photo shows a prototype made to celebrate NHPT’s anniversary. Each plaque will include the 4-digit year (or c. date) of a building’s completion. Plaques are off-white ceramic, with dark brown lettering and elm leaf silhouette. Finished plaques, which can be picked up at the Trust office, will be drilled for mounting. Mounting hardware (for wooden structures) will be provided, but installation is the responsibility of the plaque owner.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. For more information, or to receive a Plaque Request Form, please contact our office at info@nhpt.org or 203-562-5919.
