Make sure you have funded your 2010 IRA contribution! If you are under 50 you can contribute up to $5,000 in either a Roth or Traditional IRA. If you turned 50 by December 31, 2010 you can contribute up to $6,000.

You can make your contribution up until this year's tax filing deadline -- Monday, April 18, 2011 - we get an extra 'cushion' because April 15th is a holiday in DC called Emancipation Day, which honors the date in 1862 when President Abraham Lincoln signed a bill ending slavery in the District of Columbia.
