Bring some handmade charm to your garden or windowsill! In this focused handbuilding session, we will create functional ceramic art for the outdoors. We will craft "bee cups," which are tiny, textured watering stations designed to help pollinators hydrate safely, and custom slab-built herb markers to keep your garden organized and labeled in style.
What to Expect
This 3 hour standalone workshop is all about play and utility. You will learn to roll out slabs and manipulate clay into small, purposeful forms using templates and hand shaping. The instructor will guide you through adding textures that are both beautiful and functional for thirsty bees, as well as techniques for lettering and stamping your herb markers.
Your finished pieces will be kiln fired by the instructor after the workshop. We will coordinate a later date for you to return and pick up your completed work.
Skills You’ll Acquire
Slab Construction: Rolling and cutting clay to create uniform, durable garden stakes.
Pinching and Texturing: Shaping small vessels (bee cups) with specific textures for pollinators.
Lettering and Stamping: Using tools to cleanly label herb markers for your favorite plants.
Functional Design: Understanding how to build small scale pieces for outdoor or indoor plant use.

All clay and specialized garden templates.
Lettering stamps and texturing tools.
Instructor demonstrations and guided hand shaping practice.
