The Fair Haven Health Clinic is NOT charging people without insurance for health care costs during the COVID-19 crisis. This includes undocumented and documented immigrants. Documented immigrants who are not seeking healthcare because of the Trump Administration changes to the "Public Charge Rule" should know that although getting health care through public programs would make you potentially ineligible to improve your immigration status. This policy change by our local health clinic, making the services free in this way, will eliminate the negative impact to legal immigrants' status under the Rule. The cap is anyone at 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (which is most of the clinics existing patients). The second designation: 200% of FPL will still be eligible for the sliding fee discount program. Anyone with insurance (HUSKY, etc.) will be covered that way.
