Chatham Square Neighborhood

A Diverse Fair Haven Community with Historic Homes and a Beautiful Waterfront

Hi everybody,

Many of you probably know Grand Vin, on the corner of Grand and Quinnipiac Avenues.  It's a gem of store, selling a variety of fine wines, beers and liquor, more like the Wine Thief downtown than the other liquor stores on Grand Ave.  Ben, the owner, is very knowlegable, and committed to the neighborhood.  He had a rough winter, however, due to all the snow wiping out parking, and now the road construction on Quinnipiac continuing the same problem.  He said his sales volume is down to half of what it was in the fall, and he's worried about how long he can continue like this.

We need more businesses like Grand Vin in our neighborhood. I urge everybody to do their wine and beer shopping here, if you have to park around the corner, somebody in the store will gladly help you carry your merchandise there.

Thanks,

Christel

I love that place. don't shop anywhere else for my wine or beer. I am bummed to hear about their sales woes and will head down there tomorrow to stock up on beverages!!! they are so knowledgeable about wines and beers. I always go home with good stuff.

I responded to the SOS, and I am so happy that I did.  The wine inventory is incredible and there are some excellent value wines on stock.  Bed Tortora is very acommodating and helpful about the wine selection.  I will return soon, and often.  Grand Vin is a Gem in our neighborhood deserving of our support.  Cheers!

We used the services of Grand Vin for our Start Community Bank "Thank You" event that was attended by over 150 people.  I cannot give enough kudos to Grand Vin for their services and professionalism -- from the assistance in choosing wines and beers from Connecticut, to the set-up, bartending services, and clean up.  Local businesses like this are the engine of our economic recovery.  I concur with Christel -- everyone, please help keep Grand Vin grand!!!!
