Event Description

The street will be closed to vehicles between East Pearl and Ferry Streets

Originally an end of the school year party for the children to celebrate working hard and graduating, the 1st annual Exchange Street Block Party is blossoming into an all out community event.

Mayor DeStefano will be planting and dedicating a tree. There will be a stage with live musical performances, a homework awards ceremony, a graduation, and also a youth talent show organized by local residents.

Kid's activities will include: face painting, bounce house, water balloon tosses, sack races, sign your name on the promise, street sports and more in the works.

Adults can enjoy the food as there will be several street vendors on hand offering ethnic cuisine to fried dough and italian ice, not to mention the good old fashioned hot dogs on the grill.

There will also be a host of informational booths lining the streets that offer everything from meet your local police officer, sign up to have a free tree placed in front of your house, job agencies, social services and community organizations. There is way to much to list here, I have more to add, subject to change.

Please come and support us in empowering our community.

Plenty of parking in the East Pearl/Grand Ave. commuter lot or Fair Haven Public Library.

Rain date is the following Sunday June 30th.

This is the 1st weekend of Summer vacation for New Haven students. Come party with us !!!!
