Today, we live in a world of fragile High Tech communications where a single point of failure can make it all come to a halt. The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is a corps of trained amateur radio operator volunteers organized to assist in public service and emergency communications. Communication failures have been a defining part of natural disasters and other crisis. Amateur radio provides a means of communication "when all else fails".
In this online presentation you will learn about the vital role the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) plays in the community when regular communication systems FAIL or become OVER-LOADED. The presentation will be an informative overview for the general public and include instructions for how to become involved for those who already have an amateur radio license.
