The work mainly includes installation, testing and start-up of replacement air conditioning roof top units, demolition and disposal of existing units, rigging by crane near railroad tracks/high voltage lines, and related electrical and mechanical work, together with all incidental work thereto and in accordance with Bid Documents. NHPA is pre-purchasing the Roof Top Units for the selected Contractor to install.
Bidders must submit with their Bid on forms provided a list of their Intended Subcontractors, including:
• the set-aside use of DAS-certified Small Business Enterprises (“SBE”) for a requirement of at least 30% of the Bidder’s entire contract value;
• the set-aside use of DAS-certified Minority owned Business Enterprises (“MBE”), Women owned Business Enterprises (“WBE”) and/or Disabled owned Business Enterprises (“DisBE”) for a requirement of at least 25% of the Bidder’s entire contract value. Please note that the MBE, WBE, and/or DisBE are part of the SBE; and
c. Independent of the SBE/MBE/WBE/DisBE requirements herein, a minimum of 10% of the Bidder’s entire contract value must include businesses having a place of business within the City of New Haven limits.

On Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021, Tyshaun Hargrove was shot and killed in New Haven. He was 14 years old. He was Black and if the truth be told it wouldn’t surprise most (including this writer) if it turns out that his killer is Black. As of this writing no arrests have been made.
Rodent-related problems have led to the criminal prosecution of a housing nonprofit controlled by imprisoned Rabbi Daniel Greer — at the same time the same nonprofit has asked a judge for permission to divert money from rental properties in order to support Greer’s legal quest to leave prison and avoid paying a sex-assault victim.

Last night dozens of people from multiple New Haven neighborhood marched with Fair Haven residents to publicly declare our opposition to the increased gun violence in our neighborhood and in our city.
