Event Description

Keeping our community safe is important to our residents as well as our police department. Keeping the lines of communication open between these groups is even more important. We invite you to join us by participating in community dialogues that will allow citizens to meet the new chief of police and to express issues of mutual concern. These dialogues are intended to promote discussions about topics that are important to all of us, such as public safety, healthier neighborhoods. The New Haven Police Department is partnering with Community Mediation, Inc. to host these dialogues.

I attended the meeting at the Barnard School in the West River neighborhood in early November, and it was a very positive, frank dialogue -- and opened up possibilities for our younger citizens to become more involved with community organizations working currently for the common good.
