Event Description
Friends Childcare Center is parent cooperative childcare center that provides early life experiences for children in a supportive learning community. We believe that children learn best through a child-centered, hands-on learning experience. As a result, we embrace a rich, multi-dimensional environment. At the same time, we recognize individual developmental needs and believe that children grow the most in a safe, nurturing, peaceful atmosphere. Our curriculum is guided by both the Quaker principles of community, equality, peace, simplicity and truth, and our commitment to a child-centered program. Therefore, we build our curriculum upon each learner’s innate interest in the environment, peers and themselves. All of our activities and interactions strive to support and encourage each child’s social, emotional, ethical, cognitive, physical and language development.
