Event Description

In this hands-on quilting workshop, participants will learn multiple methods for creating Half-Square Triangles (HSTs), a foundational element in countless quilt designs. You’ll explore techniques for making two, four, and eight HSTs at a time, along with tips for improving accuracy and consistency. The class will also include time to experiment with combining HSTs into different layouts to develop unique block patterns. By the end of class, each participant will have a collection of completed HSTs and one or two finished quilt blocks.

What to Expect
Expect guided instruction with demonstrations followed by hands-on practice. The instructor will walk through each HST method step by step, sharing tips for trimming, aligning, and maintaining consistent sizing. Participants will have time to play with layout and design options before assembling blocks.
For those who want extra time to continue working on their project, ask questions, or quilt alongside others, we will also offer a separate Quilt-Along session later in the month. This optional follow-up meets on Sunday, May 17, 1–4pm, and is ticketed separately at $10 ($8 for members).
