New Haven Farms would like to invite you to a community meeting about a proposed community farm at English Mall, on Peck Street between Rowe Street and Clinton Avenue.
Our staff will be facilitating the meeting, providing you an opportunity to share your opinion, learn about the proposal and get answers to your questions.Your input is crucial to the progress of our proposal. We are very interested in your opinion and encourage your attendance at this meeting.
New Haven Farms aims to promote health and community development through urban agriculture. Thanks to widespread community support, partnerships with the City of New Haven, and collaborations with local organizations
and companies, we currently grow organic fruits and vegetables on .5 acres in New Haven, predominantly in Fair
Haven. We deliver comprehensive 2-‐hour, year-‐round
farm-based wellness programs that combine farm education,
nutrition education, cooking education, and shares of our
vegetable and fruit harvest. We monitor the impact that our
wellness program has on farm members’ health and food
security.
A farm on English Mall will constitute the largest urban farm
in New Haven, and enable our organization to deliver high quality educational programs and organic fruits and vegetables to over 200 community members.
Who Should Attend?
Local Residents, business owners, local public officials,
community leaders, public health providers, farm and local
food advocates, and anyone curious about this new
Opportunity!
We look forward to meeting you and hearing your voice!
