Event Description

Everyone is welcome to help plan and to attend our 2018 Planning Retreat.

The purpose of the retreat is to recalibrate and recharge our efforts to build a sustainable community in our neighborhood. To review all that we have done and supported in 2017 I encourage you to view past events tab on our neighborhood website.
Please note also that we have extended invitations to several organizations working in our neighborhood, these include the FH Community Health Clinic, the Mary Wade Home, New Haven Land Trust, New Haven Farms, the New Haven Free Public Library and others. All of the above mentioned have agreed to attend.

Here is what you can expect from our time together:
- Time to connect: a light breakfast and ice breaker
- Time to reflect: Review of neighborhood activities we created and that we supported in 2017: What will we continue to do and to support? What do we want to change or do differently? Partner organizations are welcome to inform the group about their activities in the neighborhood and to ask for support in 2018
- Time to discuss: Which of activities we would like to continue, activities we want to continue to support and new ventures.
- Time to Commit: We ask participants to make personal commitments to leading or help in each of the agreed upon areas activities and programs. This is a personal commit to our collective community. We also extend this request to other members of our community throughout the year.
- Lunch and a wrap up.
Our facilitator will be long time community organizer and social justice advocate Fatima Rojas.
