Dive into the world of sewing with our Sewing 101: Beginner’s Class! This workshop is perfect for those eager to learn the basics of sewing, whether you’ve just purchased a sewing machine or have projects lined up and need to get started. Under the expert instruction of Ceresa Newsome, Founder & Stitch Coach of Endangered Stitches®, you’ll build confidence and proficiency with each stitch.
What to Expect:
In this beginner-friendly class, you'll receive hands-on guidance through the essential techniques of sewing. From winding a bobbin to threading and safely operating a sewing machine, you'll learn the foundational skills needed to start your sewing journey. The workshop will also cover basic machine stitches, providing a solid base for future projects.
Skills You'll Acquire:
- Wind a bobbin
- Thread a sewing machine
- Safely operate a sewing machine
- Sew basic machine stitches
- Gain confidence and proficiency with sewing basics
What's Provided:
- Sewing machines for use during the class (if you don’t have your own)

- No prior experience necessary; beginners are welcome
- All materials provided; feel free to bring your own sewing machine if you have one
