: Join us for the first-ever meeting of the Tween Book Club! This month we will discuss Ikenga by Nnedi Okorafor. Open to 4th-6th graders.
In celebration of the International Festival Arts & Ideas One City, One Read program, the first book for the brand new Tween Book Club is Ikenga by Nnedi Okorafor.
Copies of Ikenga are available to check out from the library. Stop by the Fair Haven Branch to pick up a copy, or request a copy from your home NHFPL location. There is also an audiobook version available on NHFPL's Hoopla platform.
Ikenga tells the story of Nnamdi. After his father, a police chief, is killed, Nnamdi swears revenge. When he is gifted an object that gives him superpowers, Nnamdi must figure out how (and if) he can fulfill the promise to use his powers for good and come to terms with his father’s death.
