Chatham Square Association

Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

The Economic & Community Development group met on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, from 6 – 7 pm at 315 Front Street. Present: Christel, Lisa, David, Lee.

The main agenda item was Riverfest. Fair Haven Family Stroll people chose the same rain date (5/20) as us, so next year we should be in touch w. them sooner. Christel checked w. Good Night Blue Moon, not available on our date but would love to come next year. So we will ask Four Barrell Billy to do 2 sets, and not hire a second band. Rafael is willing to provide stage, less excited about dance floor (too much set up work), so we will go without that this year. Discussed inviting Music Haven kids to perform as special guests (Lee will get Christel contact info on this). Another option is Shirley Cho and Tai chi lessons. Mark reported Sound School has backed out of plant vending for this year, but Land Trust Growing Entrepreneurs will come instead (confirm with Mary Ann). Discussed putting kids activities in between vendors so parents can buy stuff while waiting for their kids. Lisa talked to Boat House about not having tent outside and having limited menu for order instead; they are good with that.

Dining out Night will be El Coqui (Latin restaurant run by Chinese people w. great food) March 14.

CSNA will help QRWA put on second “Source to Sound” clean-up of Q-river this April. Christel is contact person, Lisa will donate kayaks, Lee will help publicize.
