Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront
The Economic & Community Development group met on Monday, July 17, 2017, from 6 – 7:15 pm at 315 Front Street. Present: Christel, Margaret, Sally, Lisa, Richard, Brenda, Lee.
Various items were discussed.
Strong School. There will be a community input meeting on Wed, July 26, 6 pm at River Run. A planning meeting to prepare for this will be on July 20. Hope to get high attendance. Yale law clinic students will take notes.
Dining Out night. Lee will call Cosas Deliciosos for July 25, the juice, smoothie, and taco place on Grand Ave. People can bring chairs to sit outside.
Soup night will be in August. George want to host at MWH, we are still checking that out with David. Likely date is August 27. If yes, we will need to find a co-host.
Fall festival. Sally reported how we need various permits and insurance. In past, city Parks department would co-sponsor and then their insurance covered, but city no longer does this. Sally will follow up with Lisa to investigate one-day event insurance. We still need an event coordinator. If you know anybody you could to this, please contact Lee or Sally.
