Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront
The Economic & Community Development group met on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, from 6 – 7 pm at Quinnipiac Marina, 315 Front Street. Present: David, Christel, Kirk, Lisa.
David reported on various issues related to MWH: concert on Sept. 15, ground breaking for new development on Sept. 18; proposed lunch meeting with local businesses is postponed for now, he will keep us updated. He also reported on various meetings with city about Strong School; Mike Piscatelli agreed to do a new feasibility study.
Lisa reported on piloting a kayaking event from Q-river marina (take people up north on river so they can paddle down with the tide) but she had very few takers; people who want to kayak seem to be mostly from out of town, rather than from New Haven. Discussed ways to advertise recreational use of river.
Dining out Night set for Sept. 25 at El Coqui. Lee will post.
Riverfest planning: next year’s tentatively set for Sat, May 16, 2020; Christel will renew website, also inquire if Good Night Blue Moon band is available.
