Chatham Square Association

Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

CSNA Economic Development Group, Minutes

The group met on Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, from 6-7:30 pm at 333 Front Street. Lee, Sarah, Carlos, Natalie, Don, Pat, Brett, Christel, and Stewart were present. Items discussed:

  1. Next Soup Night will be hosted by Pat & Brett Bissell at their house on Lombard Street. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, we are moving the date to December 2.  Next Dining Out Night will be in January 2013.

  1. Report on the Strong School redevelopment proposal. Lee reported that the building has been inspected and a draft report has been written. The next steps will be to get cost estimates for the repairs and renovations that would be necessary for various different uses of the building. These will be incorporated into the final report.

  1. Chatham Square Postcard Project. Sarah reported that we can get postcards made very inexpensively. Lee reported that David Hunter’s daughter, who is graphic designer, can do the layout and graphics. Possibly she could also do photos. Otherwise, we could ask Ian Chrisman. Mary Wade Home will pick up the printing cost. Christel will send out a preliminary list of businesses to be featured on the card, and everyone can make suggestions. The idea is to list businesses that we patronize, and whom we perceive to be assets to our neighborhood. As Don suggested, it’s a kind of “Best of Chatham Square” list.
