Chatham Square Association

Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

The Economic Development group met on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, from 6-7:30 pm at 333 Front Street. Present: Christel, Carlos, Mark, Lee.

Items discussed:

  1. Planning for Riverfest 2014. We have set a raindate, May 18, in coordination with Fair Haven Family Stroll. Christel reported on her work with Don to create a logo for Riverfest (separate from the CSNA logo which will also go on the website). Christel will make Riverfest website go live, and also post Riverfest on CSNA. She will also talk to Lisa about getting channel 8 to come back. Carlos is in charge of beer and music. He will also act as our backup techie when Melissa isn’t available. Once the website is live, we want to seek sponsors: Quinnipiac River Fund (Lee), Mary Wade Home (Christel), Dee’s Bait Store (Christel), Trail Blazer (Christel). We discussed a 3 tier system for raising funds: (1) sponsor logo on Riverfest website, (2) for a higher donation, sponsor logo on both Riverfest and CSNA websites, (3) still more bucks then we put you on our social media network.
  2. Outreach: Christel mentioned meeting newcomers to the neighborhood and wishing she had a flyer to give them to show them how to find CSNA. She will work on drafting something (cut and paste info from website, edit to shorten). Then maybe we can get funding from Care; contact Alicia Santilli about this.
  3. Next Dining Out Night: December 4 at Madden’s Gastropub, the new place on Humphrey Street.
  4. Next Soup Night: Christel’s friend Debra who lives in Fair Haven heights has expressed an interest. Since CSNA has it’s retreat in January, Soup Night could be the Sunday before that which would be mid January.
