Why This Neighbor Of Yours, Who Lost Almost All His Stuff In The House Fire, Feels Richer Just Two Days Later?

https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/vyl4/to-wojtek-being-liberatedThis is the first line... I don't even know where to start.  And I don't know what I will actually be able to convey in this text.

There are so many facets of this story, and I am not a native English speaker, so writing is always a humbling experience for me, and I feel more humbled today than I ever was in my…

SUMMER SOLSTICE BONFIRE ON THE QUINNIPIAC RIVER? Just a somewhat crazy idea... Are you in?

Last weekend I was in Providence, RI - they have there an amazing public art understanding.  The non-profit organization WATERFIRE is turning a downtown waterfront into an awesome performance arts scene...  I was jealous.  New Haven long time ago decided to cut off itself from the waterfront and very little of public life actually happens on the water,  But a lot of that little happens on the Quinnipiac River... I wonder if we could add…

Amity Teen Center Has 1,002 brand new winter coats to give away to those in need

Through the generous support of Operation Warm, Inc., Joyce Van Lines and local donors, the Amity Teen Center has acquired 1,002 brand new winter coats. Joyce Van Lines has graciously volunteered to pick up the coats and are still working out the timing and logistics with Operation Warm. In the mean time the teen center wanted to get the word out to organizations in the greater New Haven area that have children and teens in need. Do you know of programs or organizations in the greater…

It's official I have finally immigrated to the CSNA jurisdiction... ;)

So... this is just to inform that your Webmaster as of October 1st finally has immigrated to CSNA country...  I often tell people that Fair Haven is like Manhattan... just think that Mill River = Hudson River ,  Quinnipiac River = East River, Ferry Street = Broadway ,  Grand Avenue = 34th street.   Using that New York City reference I have moved North from the Bottling Works Condominium in "Wall Street" area to the  Upper East Side...

I don't know yet how long I will be residing…

Fair Haven Community Sailing - Let's Relive It Again!

So, quite frankly I have decided to follow the Nike slogan : JUST DO IT! We have been debating the topic of repeating of the community sailing aboard the schooner Quinnipiack and somehow we couldn't decide if, when etc. It was decided that planing of the sail for the May 1st would be competing with the Lobster Party at Jenelles's and the season opening of the Quinnipiac River Marina. I hope that we will be able to relive it finally again on Sunday May 22nd. …

Compare to New Haven! - Evaluation of Boston's 'Neighbors for Neighbors' a hub for 18 neighborhoods

Dear Neighbors

I had recently a great opportunity to present our Website as one of the examples of a NING based website to a surprisingly large group of people that gathered in The Grove, a co-working and collaborative space serving the social mission sector of New Haven. I am not an experienced public presenter and apparently my presentation drifted quickly from talking about technicalities of the NING as Web platform to…
