Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

Hi everyone,

I just spoke with Dave Moser, landscape architect for the city, to get an update on the timeline for the Dover Beach Park splash pad and bidding process.  Please keep in mind that there is a possibility that the timeline could be delayed for any number of reasons, but Dave was optimistic that they would be able to keep close to the schedule.

July 15: Advertise for bids.  (completed)

10am, July 24: Mandatory "pre-bid" meeting at the site.  Any contractor who wishes to bid must attend the onsite meeting with Dave Moser so that Dave can explain exactly what the city is looking for and answer any questions the contractors might have.

August 8: Bids need to be submitted.  The city will review the bids and, if there is a qualified low bidder the city will choose a bidder and award the contract.  (Mary Ann: Once they receive them, Dave will email me the copies of the bids and I will forward them on to you as you requested.)

Sept 8th (approximate): Contractor receives "notice to proceed".  (It takes about three weeks after awarding the bid for the city to prepare the construction contract and then they send the notice to proceed.)  The contractor would then order the splash pad which can take around four weeks.

October 15 (approximate): Contractor begins work.

November (approximate): Splash pad completed just in time for an early winter swim!
