CARE: Yale School  Public Health Report – Luz\Dieniz
Urban Walking Trail Luz reported that the trail grant is
Approved by Alicia said they want more durable marker on
The trail & suggested Yale Peabody museum could make them.


Yoga at the Fair Haven Library Sat. 11am and 12ten they will purchase noon
The library is closed during the summer so Yoga will be at
Front street park (corner of Grand & front) on Saturdays  at
11am & 12 noon.

Report on visit to our meeting by Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of New Haven, Steve Fontana
City is running a pilot program for crowd funding, a way to raise
Money from the public for city project said . If it works people from
Neighborhoods can suggest projects. Steve said the city is promoting
Main street center projects in neighborhoods. Our would be Grand Ave
Lee suggested CSNA partner with the Grand Ave business groups.


The city is also supporting Platform which lets people donate what
You want & its independent platform. Zip Cap is another funding program that allows individuals to commit themselves to certain business by saying how often they will buy from them. The business
Can then take a loan from Zip cap based on the customer support
Sale of the Quinnipiac Marina'


Lisa is selling the Quinnipiac Marina and it looks like Wachoma is
Interested in buying it. You become a member of the Wachoma
Yacht club by being support by a member.


Blighted houses in the Neighborhood
Folks are concerned about the blighted houses in the neighborhood;
Some on Lewis st, some owned by Schiavone on Quinnipiac Ave, we decided to invite Eric Johnson from Livable Cities to the next meeting.


Upcoming Community Soup Night: 6pm 7/27 Natalie’s 272 Front St.
CitySeed Market EVERY Thursday 3-6pm Q River Park
Luz will give rides to people that need it; she & Dieniz will have
A table set up at the market and we will sponsor a walk around the
Park; Luz reported that the vouchers still have Poplar street as the
Address for the Farmers market but Dieniz put a sign on Poplar street
Notifying neighbors of the change.


Beautification coming to I-91underpass (Front St. at Middletown Ave.)
Need volunteers in the next few week Saturdays 9-11am  
We will be planting a buttefly garden by the entrance to Front
Street.


Opportunity for pictures of local residents this Sat.
Part of the underpass program is to take pictures of
Residents who live in the neighborhood and have them put
On the cement posts holding up the bridge in an effort to
Stop the illegal dumping under the bridge.


Save the date: Chatham Square Neighborhood Festival: September 6
Volunteers needed
Hope reported that the festival will be from 1-4pm; we have the
Permits & stage; there will be games for the kids (hula hoops and art ;we will get the popcorn machine & lemonade; Zumba


Trainers are coming; Carlos Santana is coming with his band;
We would  to invite the New Orleans style band from  the
Dixwell neighborhood  & Michael Mills to do drumming.

Clemenza-Will be doing face painting for the kids.

Youth, Children & Families– Mary Ann\Sally
Tutoring program Quinnipiac Terrace has a summer reading program on
Tuesday and Thursday morning; the library truck comes every other Thursday to encourage the kids to take books.
Q Garden at Clinton Avenue School
The garden is fully planted and producing lots of vegetables for the
Neighborhood; neighbors are meeting Wednesdays in July at 10:30 am
And  we will be joined by LEAP students who will work in the garden;
Common Ground comes Monday mornings to help also. In August we
Will go back to our Wednesday schedule of 4-6pm.
