$1,000 of incentives/prizes for local participant teams to submit a concept. 10 Concepts will receive $20,000 each; there are additional prizes for prototype and manufacturing.

Participants will be invited to brainstorm ideas, then work in teams to draft ideas and pitches, with the goal of leaving the session prepared to finalize and submit an idea to the competition. This event will be held both in-person at MakeHaven and online via Zoom.

The L-Prize targets commercial sector lighting, which accounts for 37% of national lighting energy use, and encourages lighting innovators to design lighting systems with breakthrough energy efficiency, quality, functionality, and sustainability.

American-Made competitions, offered by the U.S. Department of Energy, are designed to reward innovation and problem solving. More Info on  MakeHaven website shown.
