Meeting Minutes: June 2018

The Economic & Community Development group met on Monday, June 11, 2018, from 6 – 7 pm at 315 Front Street. Present: Christel, Lisa, Lee, Margaret.

 

1. Lee presented flashy new cards depicting Fair Haven Trails Map. Will distribute to clinic and business. Great for real estate agents to hand out.
2. Soup Night. NH Land Trust is hosting it in Grand Acres Community Garden on Sunday, June 24, 6-8 pm.
3. Riverfest debrief. We cancelled this year’s Riverfest due to rain. Decision was not consensual due to conflicting weather reports and diverse interpretations of the circumstances. Then it turned out to be a nice day, which was a total bummer. So we discussed creating better procedure for cancellation decisions, so there will be less second guessing. Use a single website: NOAA. If forecast is rain is 60% or more, and/or cold weather 50 degrees or less, then cancel. We also discussed having Riverfest in September, in place of Fall Festival which isn’t happening this year, but ultimately rejected that option. So we set tentative date for next Riverfest on May 18/19, 2019. Christel will contact GNBM band and QRWA about this date.
