Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront
The Economic & Community Development group met on Monday, March 11, 2019, from 6 – 6:30 pm at Quinnipiac Marina, 315 Front Street. Present: Christel, Kirk, Lisa, Natalie.
We continued with Riverfest planning. Christel reported she confirmed dates with band and QRWA. Natalie mentioned a couple other local bands we may want to tap for future years (contacts are Stefanie on Front Street and Brian on Downing Street). Rafael has said yes for Bregamos drummers, as did Land Trust for plant sales, and IRIS for selling crafts. Christel made initial contact with East Rock brewing; they seemed interested but have not confirmed yet. Kirk is looking into getting the library Book Mobile to come. Music Haven is confirmed as intermission act. David invited Creative Arts Workshop to provide an arts related activity; they are interested but we don’t have specifics yet on what the activity will be. Natalie resubmitted Community Foundation grant. Lisa confirmed food arrangements with Boathouse (pizza slices, etc., to order) and Greenwave. So everything seems to be lined up for now.
Ideas were proposed for Dining Out night, but no decision was made.
