Chatham Square Association

Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

The Economic Development group met on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, from 6-7:30 pm at 333 Front Street. Present: Christel, Ihssane, Pat, Brett, David Hunter, Carlos, Melissa, Lee.

Items discussed:

  1. Planning for Riverfest 2014. Christel and Melissa presented web page they created for Riverfest. The date will be Sunday, May 3, with rain date TBD after we talk to the Family Stroll organizers. We want to add links to other organizations that are or could become involved: QRWA, QR Fund, Q River Marina, Boat House Café, etc.  We will add CSNA logo, can also add sponsor logos. We brainstormed to come up with a catchy by-line . . . right now we are going with “Celebrate the Q!”  Action steps prior to next meeting: Christel will talk to Lisa to confirm that Anastasio (new managers of Boat House Café) are on board. Someone (?) will reach out to Voytec and Ian to get picture for background. Christel will talk to Don about creating a Riverfest logo which will go on website and on all other advertising for this event.
  2. November Dining Out Night: we will try the new Madden restaurant on Humphrey and East streets. Carlos will contact them and then post the event.
  3. October Soup Night will be at Melissa’s house: Sunday, 10/27, at 6 pm. Melissa will make two soups, Carlos will bring a third, Christel will bring some other foods. Melissa will post event.
  4.  Strong School: Project keeps moving forward. Lee has posted and sent out separate updates about this, so I will not repeat it here.
  5. Announcements: David Hunter is thinking about starting a Rotary Club chapter in Fair Haven. He would also love to talk more about villages :)
