The "New Haven Parents" (an informal group working to increase parent input into education in New Haven), in particular Eliza Halsey, have coordinated efforts with the Hartford Public Schools Montessori magnet schools, the local New Haven Montessori schools and another dedicated parent group working to bring a Montessori to the Bridgeport Public Schools, to make a public Montessori a reality for New Haven in the Fall of 2013.

October is Food Month in New Haven! The New Haven Food Policy Council has worked hard to put together the city's first Food Summit, happening at City Hall on Friday October 12th. Will Allen, CEO of Growing Power, will be in attendance and will be giving the keynote speech at the New Haven Land Trust dinner that night, talking about the importance of a healthy and robust local food system.
