Chatham Square Association

Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

Background Information
Since 2009 the Chatham Square Neighborhood Association has created and supported activities that benefit our community, around Chatham Square Park and Fair Haven. We continue to support neighborhood cleans ups, Quinnipiac Riverfest and Halloween and Thanksgiving day events. We also  coordinate Community Dining Out Night, Community Soup Night to build community among residents and to support our local restaurants. We raise funds to support activities led by our members and our community partners. Our community partners include the Mary Wade Home, Fair Haven Library, Fair Haven Community Management Team, Fair Haven community Health Center, The New Haven Land Trust, New Haven Farms, Urban Resources Initiative and Junta for Progressive Action. In 2019 for example we helped support the Fair Haven Parade, Riverfest, community murals and a cultural event at the Fair Haven Library.
Future Possibilities
As we enter fully into a second decade of existence we recognize that there have been changes in our community and in our city. The work of the future can include things we have done in the past but it does not have to be limited to these things; nor do we need to limit ourselves to the way we structured our organization in the past. We are inviting you to be a part of the conversation about changes to our association. Whether you are a long time resident, a new person in our community, someone who works here or the owner of a business your opinion matters. This is why we ask that you please take a moment to share your opinion about the future of our neighborhood association We appreciate you time
