Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront

This idea is in the works. I was contacted by Robert Fecke who is a long time resident of the neighborhood and business owner of Reclamation Lumber on Grand Avenue. Like myself, Mr. Fecke is overwhelmed with the amount of litter accumulated at various sites in Fair Haven. In fact, he is so fed up with it he has volunteered 2 workers, 1 vehicle and supplies toward the clean-up effort. We dont want to hit one spot one time, what we want to do is clean up several different locations on a recurring schedule. We were thinking on a monthly basis." The Fair Haven Clean-up crew". Again, this whole thing is in it's infancy. I'm looking for ideas and feedback on this???????????????

1. Post the dates on this website and depending on the site, put a placard where you will be doing the clean up at least a week before the clean up.

2. If there is a business across the street from where you plan to clean up ask them if they would be willing to clean up on their side on the same day if it is needed. This way both side of the street look nice at the same time.

3. Along Grand Avenue or any commercial area coordinate with Frank Alvarado of the Grand Avenue Special Services District. his cell number is 203.214.3398. I just spoke with him and he is willing to use money in his budget to buy a meal for the cleaning crew from a local restaurant and he can coordinate with the city to make sure that the garbage you collect is picked up as soon as possible.

Best of luck.
