Who:

Local artist Mitch Rembert, son of internationally-known artist Winfred Rembert from Newhallville, is working in collaboration with New Haven's Creative Arts Workshop, and NY-based CITYarts. CITYarts is acting as the fiduciary at no charge.

What and Where:
Our Pleace Mural will be painted on the front of the Fair Haven Public Library, 182 Grand Avenue. The mural will incorporate input from dozens of New Haven young people who were asked to create a piece of art based on the prompt "what is peace to you." This mural is part of an international effort that has already created murals in 125 countries. The goal in the U.S. is one mural in every state with the Connecticut one being here, in Fair Haven. The project includes bringing an exhibit of local youth art to the Fair Haven library for exhibit upstairs, a website, and a book celebrating the art of youth around the world.
The book which is in its second printing is currently available on Amazon. Linked here.

When:
Having optained permssion from the City the painting of the mural will begin this month so we can take advantage of the summer weather but we need your help to complete the funding.

Ask:
Please donate what you can, both to enable the project and to demonstrate local interest in supporting local artist engaging local you on such an important topic as peace.
